Glad you enjoyed my Tumblr blog! You're now on my personal website, which has a whole bunch of movie reviews and not much else.
I worked in a library for many years, collecting interesting facts from books. I used to transcribe this information into journals, but it became unwieldy - too many journals and no easy way to access the information. In 2010, I thought there must be a more elegant way for me to organize the information, so I started The Pattern Still Remains.
In 2011, Tumblr added me to the Spotlight History section (thanks, Tumblr!), and made me a Tumblr Tag Editor for History. In 2012, I started a second Tumblr blog, Science Fiction Double Feature to store a bunch of scanned science-fiction book and magazine covers. In 2013, I left the library and started working at Columbia University, and in 2017, I moved from New York to Seattle.
I have a few additional Tumblr Blogs kicking around (Periodically 80s, Absolutely Absolut & The Dead Ride Fast, Music Hath Charms), but they're mostly just image compilations. Love the tagging option for fast sorting and organizing of images.
"The Pattern Still Remains" is taken from a Simon and Garfunkel song, Patterns. I thought, perhaps, the random bits of information on my blog might settle into some sort of recognizable or useful pattern. It hasn't yet. "Science Fiction Double Feature" is, of course, from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and "The Dead Ride Fast" is from Dracula ("Den die Todten reiten schnell!"). "Music Hath Charms" is from William Congreve's The Mourning Bride.
