Plot Synopsis:
Chicago teen thug Mick accidentally runs over drug-dealer Paco's younger brother and is sent away to a juvenile correction facility. Paco rapes Mick's girlfriend, J.C., and is fortuitously sent to the same correctional facility. Pretty much as soon as he's there, the teen offenders are betting on which guy will win in the fight to the death.

Favorite Moments:

  • It's not really fair reviewing this under "Guilty Viewing" - it's actually a pretty thoughtful movie. That said, combine rape (male & female), shirtless teens in prison and Alan Ruck, and I'm going to file it under "Guilty Pleasure" every single time.
  • "Yeah, I killed your little brother, Moreno. But you just remember he's dead because you weren't looking out for him."
  • The always-attractive Esai Morales, running around shirtless.
  • A pre-Breakfast Club Ally Sheedy. Filmed at the same time that she was filming Wargames.
  • Horowitz beating the crap out of Viking. Hell, Mick beating the crap out of Viking *and* Tweety.
  • An excellent use of coca cola cans and a pillowcase in prison self-defense. Sean Penn, I am impressed.
  • Clancy Brown's (Highlander!) first film role!
